HISTORY
When Vail Mountain opened in December 1962 with one gondola, two chair lifts, eight ski instructors and a $5 lift ticket, the U.S. Forest Service stipulated that there be at least one lodge with a minimum of 30 sleeping rooms. The Lodge at Vail, which had been open for just one month, soon became the cornerstone property of what would eventually become Vail Village.
ICONIC LOCATION
The Lodge at Vail is located within Vail Village in the Colorado Rocky Mountains. This intimate alpine boutique hotel is situated at the base of North America’s largest ski resort.

Renowned for relaxed luxury and impeccable personal service, The Lodge at Vail combines the elegance and charm of an alpine inn with the warmth of western hospitality. Guests can find all they need within a few steps from the lodge including the village's main ski lift and a variety of boutiques, bars, restaurants and nightclubs.
ACCOMMODATIONS
The Lodge at Vail’s 165 rooms and suites are reminiscent of a fine European chalet with accents of mahogany and marble. Featuring mountain and village views, the luxurious accommodations offer antique armoires, fine leather furnishings and thick terry robes. Each of the diverse 46 suites with one, two or three bedrooms are equipped with wood-burning fireplaces and private walk-out balconies.
The spectacular Chalets at The Lodge at Vail are private hideaways with true ski in/ski out access. The Chalets feature four or five bedrooms, three or more baths and powder room, with luxurious amenities such as large flat screen TVs, a fireplace and in-floor radiant heat. These elegant accommodations include a personal elevator with access from garage to residence; 42" gas fireplace in the living room with raised stone hearth and stone mantle; and a gourmet kitchen with top-of-the line appliances including Viking® Duel-Fuel Range & Refrigerator.
RESTAURANTS
Elway's - Named for fromer Denver Bronco quarterback and NFL Hall of Fame Inductee John Elway, Elway's Vail is an iconic Colorado steakhouse. Featuring USDA hand cut prime steaks on an award-winning menu chock full of Colorado lamb, fresh fish and creative side dishes. An affordable wine list boasts over 350 selections. Cucina Rustica - Open for breakfast year-round, Cucina Rustica is the place to start your day when staying at the Lodge at Vail. During ski season, the restaurant serves a breakfast buffet from 7:00am to 10:30am. In winter evenings, Cucina Rustica serves as Vail's premier Italian restaurant with a nightly antipasti table and extensive menu featuring Colorado home-grown produce including hand-picked wild mushrooms.
MEETINGS / EVENTS
The Lodge can accommodate a wide range of events from group meetings, seminars and corporate retreats, to family reunions and weddings. The recently renovated 6,000-square-foot mountainside ballroom provides a spacious venue with flexibility to host groups ranging from 10 to 300 people.
ROCKRESORTS SPA
The RockResorts Spa at The Lodge at Vail opened in July 2008. The 11,600-square-foot spa features 11 treatment rooms including a luxurious couples’ room with fireside soaking tub for two, a wet treatment room, two facial rooms and seven massage rooms. Décor reflects an intimate and elegant Colorado feel with warm colors and textures, and stylish stone and wood textures. There is a fitness complex with top-of-the-line LifeFitness equipment and a movement studio for yoga, stretch and Pilates. The spa offers such treatments as a Youth Recovery Facial, a Dark Chocolate Mudslide, and Green Tea and Chamomile Soothing Wrap.

The Lodge at Vail offers guests a variety of amenities and services including wireless Internet access in all guestrooms, 24-hour in-room dining, 24-hour guest service, and on-mountain ski storage.
ACTIVITIES
Winter: Winter activities include downhill and cross-country skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling, ice-skating, dog sledding, horse and carriage rides, snow cat tours, snowshoe hikes and sleigh rides.
Summer: Activities available during the summer include hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking, fly-fishing, whitewater rafting, four-wheel adventures, tennis, sporting clays and hot-air balloon rides. The Vail Valley is renowned for its many mountain golf courses. Guests of The Lodge at Vail enjoy access to the award-winning Red Sky Ranch, with courses designed by Tom Fazio and Greg Norman. The concierge is available to coordinate tee times.
